Turkey's LPG Imports Increase in December 2017

Turkey's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports increased by 17.6 percent to 281.1 thousand tons in December 2017 compared to December 2016, according to a report by Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) released on Wednesday.

Imports to Turkey came from several different countries in December including Algeria, Norway, Kazakhstan, the U.S., Russia, the U.K., and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Turkey's LPG production decreased by 21.3 percent to 68 thousand tons in December 2017, compared to the same month of 2016.

In addition, the country's LPG exports decreased by 13.9 percent to 24.8 thousand tons in December. Among the countries that imported the highest LPG volumes from Turkey were Switzerland, Egypt, Bulgaria, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Tunisia, Romania, Denmark, Turkey's free trade zones and Singapore.

Total sales of LPG hit 313 thousand tons, including 239 thousand tons of autogas, 64 thousand tons of bottled LPG and 10 thousand tons of bulk LPG.
