KESH announced and concluded the auction on March 15, with the highest price offered set as the most important criteria, according to the final report on the results of the auction posted on the company website.
Eight domestic and foreign power suppliers and traders participated in the auction, and KESH selected twelve of them: Danske Commodities AL, EFT AG, Future Energy Trading and Exchange Dynamics shpk, GSA shpk, GEN-I Tirana shpk, HSE Doo, and LE Trading Doo.
The price ranges achieved in the auction were 11.65 euro/MWh to 13.55 euro/MWh for the first lot, 11.71 euro/MWh to 15.11 euro/MWh for the second lot, 11.5 euro/MWh to 30.19 euro/MWh for the third lot, 11.55 euro/MWh to 21.18 euro/MWh for the fourth lot, 11.55 euro/MWh to 25.34 euro/MWh for the fifth lot, 11.44 euro/MWh to 13.72 euro/MWh for the sixth lot and 11.65 euro/MWh to 13.43 euro/MWh for the seventh lot.
Albania produces 98% of its electricity at hydro power plants (HPP). Most of it is generated at three power plants along the Drin River, in the northern part of the country.
