Distinguished speakers from Greece and abroad discuss feasible solutions to the energy transitionThe inseparable connection between the energy sector, economy and development in Greece and Southeast Europe will be highlighted for another year by the annual National Conference "Energy and Development", organized by the Institute of Energy for SE Europe (IENE) under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, at 1-2 December 2021 in Athens.

The inseparable connection between the energy sector, economy and development in Greece and Southeast Europe will be highlighted for another year by the annual National Conference "Energy and Development", organized by the Institute of Energy for SE Europe (IENE) under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, at 1-2 December 2021 in Athens. The Conference, in its 25th edition, will be held in hybrid form at the Divani Caravel Hotel, with the presence of more than 70 distinguished speakers from Greece and abroad. These include representatives of the government and political parties, the academic community, executives of international organizations and companies, while important interventions will be made by renowned experts and reputable analysts.

Indicatively, the conference will include, among others: the Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis - Spyridon Georgiadis, the President of RAE, Dr. Athanasios Dagoumas, the General Secretary of Energy and Mineral Raw Materials, Alexandra Sdoukou, the Head of Environment of SYRIZA, Socrates Famellos, the President of the Technical Chamber of Greece, George Stasinos and the Vice President of ACCI, Michalis Siamidis. The Minister of Environment and Energy, Costas Skrekas, will also address a greeting via video message.

In addition, this year's event will host top executives from the largest energy companies, in domestic and regional level, as well as distinguished researchers, representatives of social partners and academics from various countries in Europe, the Balkans, the Eastern Mediterranean.

According to the Government Gazette (4676 / 08.10.2021), for physical presence the only participants allowed are those who have been vaccinated or ill in the last six months, by presenting a certificate of vaccination or illness in the secretariat of the conference together with the electronic registration.

 According to the government’s decision as published in State Gazette (5138 / 05.11.2021), participants with physical presence are only allowed those who have been fully vaccinated or have become ill in the last six months. They shall need to present a vaccination or illness certificate at the registration desk of the conference.
