Educational activities related to energy form an integral part of the Institute’s agenda. Although the emphasis of IENE’s work has so far been on research and study, information dissemination, organization of conference etc., the Institute’s management is deeply aware of the need to organize and offer on a regular basis educational and training courses on a variety of energy-related subjects.
Nevertheless, the Institute over the past years has organized a number of educational and training courses mainly addressed to energy professionals across the board. These courses included a number of introductory courses such as the one on Electricity Markets in SEE, Energy Efficiency for Buildings and Industry, Renewable Energy Sources, Energy and Geopolitics etc.
IENE is constantly updating its educational agenda in response to industry needs. Currently the Institute is in the process of revising the curriculum of most of its educational courses with the view of announcing a new series of seminars which will start running from September 2025 onwards. Details of these courses will be announced through the Institute’s web sites.
Forthcoming courses will cover the following areas:
- Electricity market operation in SE Europe
- Gas market dynamics in SE Europe and the East Mediterranean
- Energy efficiency theory and practice in the building sector
- Project planning and implementation for renewable energy applications
- Energy security fundamentals
- Managing energy in a complex world
In addition to its regular educational courses IENE is in a position to offer customized courses on specific subject areas to address the needs of large organizations and companies.
