The Bulgarian energy regulator
has granted a 10-year permit to Slovenia-based Energija Naturalis Int to trade
with electricity in Bulgaria.
The proposed 10-year period will provide opportunities to the Slovenian company
to implement both short-term and long-term plans, ensuring a stable cash flow
and creating a natural incentive for long-term investment and financial
exposition in Bulgaria, the State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission
(SEWRC) said in a statement on its website.
In its business plan for the 2014-2019 period, which Energija Naturalis Int has
submitted to the regulator, it projects that the amount of electricity it will
buy and sell will gradually increase from 10,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) in 2014 to
50,000 MWh in 2015, to 80,000 MWh in 2019.
The company's net profit is expected to increase from 1,000 levs
($635,200/511,200 euro) in 2014 to 46,800 levs in 2015, reaching 96,300 levs in
2019.
According to the regulator, the Slovenian company also intends to acquire a
licence for trading with electricity in 11 more countries, including Romania,
FYROM, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Privately-owned Energija Naturalis Int was set up in 2013. It has branches in
Serbia and FYROM, as well as in Slovenia.
The decision was taken at a meeting that took place on November 6, the
regulator added.
