IENE participated with two papers in the 3rd conference of the Hellenic Association of Energy Economics (HAEE), on "Energy Transition: European and Global Perspectives", which took place in Athens on 3-5 May.
More specifically, the Institute presented two papers. The first paper was titled "Dominant Energy Security Issues in SE Europe and Proposed Accommodation Strategies", with authors Costis Stambolis, Executive Director of IENE and Dimitris Mezartasoglou, Head of Research at IENE, with the paper presented by C. Stambolis. The second paper, titled "Anticipated Penetration Rate of Electric Vehicles in Greece's Motor Vehicle Market", was authored by Alexandros Perellis, Researcher at IENE, D. Mezartasoglou and C. Stambolis, with the paper being presented by A. Perellis.
The first paper focused on energy security in the Southeastern European region with an emphasis on energy transition both from a market perspective (market integration) and in terms of fuel use (clean fuels). It examines, among others, the role of key energy infrastructure installations as they represent potential hot spots for the region's energy security, as well as measures and policies for managing energy crises.
The second paper presents an overview of the Greek Electric Vehicle Market, the institutional and operational framework governing its operation and development, as well as the technical and non-technical barriers to a widespread adoption of electric mobility in Greece.
These papers will shortly appear in HAEE’s website (www.haee.gr) while they have already been posted on www.iene.gr and www.iene.eu.
