As the date of the Institute’s forthcoming one day workshop on CCUS approaches, and scheduled to take place in Athens on October 10,2023, (see link) considerable interest is building up among companies and organizations active in this area of work. Speakers from international organizations such the Paris based International Energy Agency (IEA), from DG Energy at the European Commission in Brussels, from the Global CCS Institute in Australia, and from ECOLOG, part of a major international shipping group have confirmed their participation.
In addition, speakers will come from the five companies which supported IENE’s recently completed major study on the “Prospects for the Implementation of CCUS Technologies in Greece” which will be presented at the workshop. These five top companies include Helleniq Energy, the Public Gas Corporation (DEPA), the Hellenic Hydrocarbons and Energy Resources Management Company (HEREMA), Greece’s Independent Gas Transmission Operator (DESFA) and Franco Compania Naviera SA, a forward-looking Athens based shipping company.
