IENE’s major regional event, the 14th “SEE Energy Dialogue” (SEEED), which will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 25 & 26 May, 2023, will focus on the repercussions of the recent energy crisis still being felt across EuropeCovering a wide spectrum of subjects, ranging from hydrocarbons, electricity and energy transition to geopolitics and energy security IENE’s major annual event will bring together energy experts, professionals, country officials etc. from West Balkans, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Israel, Cyprus and Greece, as well as from regional and international organizations and think tanks.
Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last year and the huge negative impact on European energy markets, gas supply disruptions and unprecedented high electricity and gas prices the issue of energy security has come into sharp focus. A special Ambassadors’ Forum, opening the proceedings of the Conference, as well as a session dedicated to Geopolitics and Energy Security in SE Europe, are among the highlights of this year’s SEEED.
Moreover, featuring Country Reports from all the countries of SE Europe, the 14th SEE Energy Dialogue will provide invaluable background on the latest developments in the region’s evolving natural gas, electricity and RES markets and the ongoing energy partnerships with major suppliers.
The International Energy Agency and the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies are among the influential think tanks and organizations, representatives of which are to take the floor of IENE’ 14th SEEED. It has to be noted that IEA’s recently released “Global EV Outlook 2023” will be presented at this year’s South East Europe Energy Dialogue. Confirmed speakers also include high-ranking officers from the Power Exchanges of Albania (ALPEX), Greece (HEnEx), Serbia (SEEPEX) and of Istanbul, Turkey (EPIAS).
The 14th SE Europe Energy Dialogue will be held at The Met Hotel in Thessaloniki. The conference will start at 15:00 on Thursday, May 25 to be followed by the official dinner and will end on Friday, May 26 at 18:00.
