The capital of Serbia, Belgrade, is hosting this week a highly topical energy event organized by IENE. The Institute’s flagship regional study “South East Europe Energy Outlook 2025/2026” presentation, as well as an analysis of the current regional energy markets challenges will be at the focus of a special half-day event organized by the Institute in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the premises of the Chamber in Belgrade.
This major regional event will bring together distinguished academic speakers, policymakers, industry experts, market professionals and senior executives from Greece and Serbia to examine the major developments shaping the energy landscape of South-East Europe. The conference is set to begin with introductory remarks by the organizers, i. e. Mr. Mihailo Mihailovic, IENE Partner & Conference Moderator, and Mrs. Ivana Vuletic, Director of Industry Associations Division of CCIS.
Mr. Costis Stambolis, Chairman & Executive Director of IENE, as well as Mr. Nikos Sofianos, the Institute’s General Secretary and Chairman of IENE’s RES Committee, will present IENE's “South East Europe Energy Outlook 2025/2026”, the central feature of the event, providing a comprehensive assessment of energy trends, market developments and investment prospects across South-East Europe.
Moreover, this joint IENE-CCIS event will provide a unique platform for dialogue on regional energy security, market integration, decarbonisation and investment opportunities at a time of profound geopolitical and technological change. These subjects will be covered by notable speakers such as Professor Dragana Mitrovic (PhD, Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade and Founder and President of the Institute for Asian Studies, Belgrade), Mr. Dusan Zivkovic (General Manager, JSC Electric Power Industry of Serbia - EPS), Mr. Milos Mladenovic (Managing Director, SEEPEX), Mr. Martin Martinoski (Electricity and Statistics Expert, Energy Community Secretariat, Austria) and Mr. Milan Zdravkovic (DSO Executive Director, JP Srbijagas, Serbia).
