ΙΕΝΕ, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS). organized a half-day event on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in Belgrade, which brought together distinguished academic speakers, policymakers, industry experts, market professionals and senior executives from Greece and Serbia in order to examine the major developments shaping the energy landscape of South-East Europe, as well as the current regional energy markets challenges.
A central feature of the event, which took place at the premises of CCIS, was the presentation of IENE's flagship regional study, “South East Europe Energy Outlook 2025/2026”, offering a comprehensive assessment of energy trends, market developments and investment prospects across South-East Europe.
The conference, which was attended by more than 150 people, began with introductory remarks by the organizers, Mr. Mihailo Mihailovic, IENE Partner & Conference Moderator, and Mrs. Ivana Vuletic, Director of Industry Associations Division of CCIS.
Mr. Costis Stambolis, Chairman & Executive Director of IENE, as well as Mr. Nikos Sofianos, the Institute’s General Secretary and Chairman of IENE’s RES Committee, presented IENE's “South East Europe Energy Outlook 2025/2026”, the central feature of the event, providing a comprehensive assessment of energy trends, market developments and investment prospects across South-East Europe.
Overall, this joint IENE-CCIS event provided a unique platform for dialogue on regional energy security, market integration, decarbonisation and investment opportunities at a time of profound geopolitical and technological change. These subjects were covered in the second session of the event by notable speakers including Professor Dragana Mitrovic (PhD, Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade and Founder and President of the Institute for Asian Studies, Belgrade), Mr. Dusan Zivkovic (General Manager, JSC Electric Power Industry of Serbia - EPS), Mr. Milos Mladenovic (Managing Director, SEEPEX), Mr. Martin Martinoski (Electricity and Statistics Expert, Energy Community Secretariat, Austria) and Mr. Milan Zdravkovic (DSO Executive Director, JP Srbijagas, Serbia).
