IENE Annual Report for 2025 Now Available

The Institute of Energy for South-East Europe (IENE) has just published its Annual Report for 2025, presenting a comprehensive overview of the Institute's activities, achievements and strategic priorities during the past year.

The Report, which was unanimously approved at the Institute’s July 8th AGM, highlights IENE's continued growth as the leading independent energy think tank in Southeast Europe, with its work focusing on five core areas: research and studies, information dissemination, advisory services, events, and professional education. Throughout 2025, the Institute further strengthened its regional presence by expanding collaborations with partners across Southeast Europe and enhancing its role as a trusted source of energy analysis and policy dialogue.

A major milestone during the year was the completion of IENE's flagship publication, the "SEE Energy Outlook 2025/2026", an extensive study examining energy developments and long-term prospects in Southeast Europe and the East Mediterranean. Other important research projects completed during the year included studies on East Mediterranean Energy Options, A Cost Benefit Analysis for CCUS hubs in Greece, The Greek Energy Sector – Annual Report 2024, and Energy Trends 2025.

The Report also documents IENE's broad range of publications, including weekly and monthly market analyses, newsletters, Research Notes, Briefing Notes, Working Papers and news analyses covering key developments in regional and international energy markets. During 2025, the Institute continued to expand its advisory activities, providing specialized support to companies, organizations and public authorities in areas such as energy markets, infrastructure, regulation, energy transition and Green Bond verification.

In line with its updated strategic objectives, IENE strengthened its research programmes by placing greater emphasis on energy security, innovation, artificial intelligence, energy technologies, critical raw materials and regional energy cooperation. The Institute also reinforced the work of its Scientific Committees and intensified its communication activities to further establish itself as the principal regional hub for energy information and analysis.

Furthermore, the Annual Report includes a detailed presentation of the Institute's governance, research programmes, conferences and seminars, participation in international initiatives and public consultations, financial performance, and the new strategic roadmap towards 2030.

The publication of the Annual Report marks another important milestone in IENE's continuous effort to provide independent analysis, promote informed dialogue and support the sustainable development of the energy sector throughout Southeast Europe.
