In his presentation, Mr. Theofylaktos referred to the need of the Greek Industry to change its, until now, entrenched mentality of being little concerned with energy efficiency, and to follow the European policy of Energy Management, especially now, where energy prices follow an unprecedented growth path, without any apparent de-escalation in the near future. In his presentation he also mentioned the need for energy audits, which are required in the context of the current legislation and are carried out by certified energy auditors.
Hence, it is of vital importance that industrial unit operators become familiarized with energy efficiency legislation so that the documented LCA Energy efficiency proposals can be implemented and not remain a mere legal requirement. Costas Theofylactos’s presentation was warmly received by the audience as the Q+A session which followed showed. At the conference, specialized companies presented the latest trends, innovative solutions and best practices in energy efficiency, as well as the benefits in reducing production costs, increasing efficiency and limiting the environmental footprint.
