Spanish wind turbine
maker Gamesa (BME:GAM) said today it had divested
two Greek wind projects totalling 82 MW to EMV,
part of Eren Groupe SA.
Gamesa will build the 40-MW Ptoon and 42-MW
Maristi wind farms for EMV in the Sterea Ellada
region. The company will use nine of its G87
turbines and 11 of the G97 machines for the Ptoon
project. The Maristi plant, in turn, will comprise
21 of Gamesa’s G87 units.
The scope of the deal includes installing electric
substations at both sites. The contract also calls
for the Spanish firm to operate and maintain the
two wind parks for a 10-year period. The
facilities are expected to be completed by the end
of 2015.
Including the newly-purchased projects,
Luxembourg-based Eren now owns over 150 MW of
renewable energy plants in Greece, either
operational or under construction. Last year, the
group bought a 25.5-MW wind park in Greece’s
Viotia prefecture from Gamesa.
Since 2000, Gamesa has developed almost 90 MW of
wind farms in Greece and its current local
pipeline reaches 600 MW. Moreover, the company has
also erected 180 MW of its turbines and maintains
a further 118 MW in Greece.
