As part of their effort to inform the business community on financing issues related to energy transition, the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and the Institute of Energy for Southeast Europe (IENE) took the initiative to jointly organize an Open Informative Event on the theme "Green Bonds as a Financing Tool for Low Carbon Emission Projects."
The aim of the event is to inform companies engaged in low carbon emission projects (renewable energy sources, improvement of energy efficiency, etc.) about the possibility of financing them through the issuance of Green Bonds.
The event will take place on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 (5:00 PM – 7:30 PM), at the amphitheater of the EBEA. Participation in the event is free, however, prior registration is required – for registration information click here.
The IENE, having placed the promotion of sustainable development high on its agenda, and in the context of its cooperation with the Climate Bonds Initiative, based in London, has been since 2021 the first organization in Greece, and in Southeast Europe, to receive the status of "Approved Verifier" in compliance with the Climate Bond Standards. This development marks a milestone in the growth of the green bond market in Southeast European countries, and IENE has already participated in a series of related certifications for companies in the region that led to the issuance of green bonds.
