Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met with Ulrich Schumacher, CEO
of Zumtobel, a leading supplier of integral lighting solutions, to
discuss further successful cooperation and investment prospects.
After the first meeting with Schumacher in November last year, this
company has donated advanced street lighting solutions for two streets
in Belgrade and Nis, and decided to move its project centre for central
and eastern Europe from Poland to Serbia.
He pointed out that the aim of the government is to improve economic
relations with Germany, and expressed confidence that the structural
reforms will contribute to the arrival of new German investments.
The Prime Minister said that a large number of new potential investors
from Germany is interested in investing in our country, and added that
Serbia is doing everything in order to create a favourable investment
environment to attract foreign investments.
Thanks to economic reforms, but also thanks to companies such as
Siemens, Toennies , Zumtobel and many others, Serbia is on the right
path to economic recovery, he concluded.
Schumacher said that the reasons for the decision were Serbia's
favourable geographic position, tax system, highly-skilled and
well-educated workforce, capable of becoming part of big companies.
In the first phase, the centre will provide services to companies in
central and eastern Europe, Schumacher said, hinting at plans for
expansion to entire Europe.
Competition for the job in this company is open from 1 February at which
15 young people from Serbia, who completed the Faculty Electrical
Engineering and Faculty of Architecture, will have the opportunity to
become part of the team of Zumtobel.
In the second phase of development, the company plans to hire another 50 Serbia graduates.
