urkey's energy import bill increased by 6.8 percent to nearly $3.47 billion in August from nearly $3.25 billion for the same month last year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Friday.
The data shows that Turkey's overall import bill reached $14.8 billion last month, with energy accounting for 23.4 percent. The country's crude oil imports showed a 11 percent decrease over the same period compared to August 2017.
Turkey imported approximately 2.08 million tons of crude oil last month, down from 2.34 million tons for the same period last year.
