Turkey's energy regulator will invite applications for solar and wind energy generation licences from private investors as of April 2015, local media reported.

The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) will accept applications for solar energy licences between April 1 and 7, 2015, and for wind energy licences between April 24 and 30, 2015, daily Today's Zaman reported on Thursday, quoting the regulator's head Hasan Koktas.

Koktas said also that investments in wind power in Turkey over the past ten years amounted to $4.0 billion (3.0 billion euro). The share of wind power in Turkey's total installed power capacity of 61,000 megawatts has reached 4.5%, he added.
