Turkey is in talks with the
government of northern Iraq's semi-autonomous
Kurdistan region to conduct exploration activities
in 13 oil and gas blocks in the region via the
state-backed Turkish Energy Company, Turkish media
reported.
The Turkish Energy Company will explore seven of
the blocks independently and the remaining six
blocks in cooperation with another company,
Turkey's energy minister Taner Yildiz said, quoted
by daily Aksam on Saturday.
The terms of the potential contracts have not been
determined yet, the daily added.
