Small-Scale LNG Carrier Delivers Cargo to Croatian FSRU

The 30,000-cbm small-scale LNG carrier, Ravenna Knutsen, has delivered the 42nd cargo to the FSRU-based Krk import facility in Croatia since the launch of operations in January last year, according to state-owned terminal operator, LNG Croatia.

This delivery, which arrived in Omisalj on Wednesday, is also the last cargo of the gas year 2021/2022, LNG Croatia said in a short statement.

The firm did not provide any additional information.

According to its AIS data provided by VesselsValue, Ravenna Knutsen previously reloaded the cargo at the Enagas-operated regasification plant in Barcelona.

The Knutsen-owned ship is on a 12-year charter with Italy’s Edison and serves the small-scale facility in Ravenna.

The 140,000-cbm LNG Croatia FSRU has previously received reloads from Dunkirk and Zeebrugge, but not from Barcelona.

Also, this could be the first small-scale LNG carrier to unload at the Krk facility.

In May last year, the FSRU completed its first small-scale LNG reloading operation with Avenir Accolade.

Croatia recently decided to further increase the capacity of its FSRU-based LNG import terminal on the northern Adriatic island of Krk.

The capacity of the terminal will rise to 6.1 bcm and the expansion project will cost about 180 million euros ($176.7 million) and includes the construction of a new pipeline from Zlobin to Bosiljevo.
