According to an official press release, a Coordination Auction Office for South East Europe was established in Podgorica, Montenegro on March 27, 2014. Representatives of the TSOs from seven SEE countries from the region have signed the region igned the agreement for establishing SEE CAO. That was the last step of completing the tasks of eighteen months of dedicated work of the Project Team Company in Charge of establishing a Coordinated Auction Office in South East Europe, supported not only by respective TSOs but also by the IFIs - EBRD, KFW and USAID, which involved the development of legal, financial, technical and operational framework for the functioning of the Coordinated Auction Office in South East Europe (hereinafter: SEE CAO).
Based on the abovementioned the process of preregistration of the PTC into SEE CAO already started with the Montenegrin Central Register of Commercial Entities in Podgorica on 1st of April 2014. Shareholders of the SEE CAO are TEIAS, IPTO, HOPS, NOS BiH, CGES, OST and KOSTT.
SEE CAO as first regional implementation project in South East Europe is open also for other TSOs from S.E. Europe willing to join the company in order to strengthen the coordinated congestion management in SEE. This will bring it in line with those in the other regions of Europe and optimize cross border capacity allocation for the benefit of electricity customers in SEE. The next steps towards fully operational SEE CAO will be presented at the Athens Forum, 2-3 June 2014.
