Romania's state energy department said on

country were 13% below plan on October 1but
consumers wereunaffected by the cut.
Romania imports only 0.2 million cubic metres
(cu m) of natural gas per day from Russia, while
itsdomestic production stands at31 million cu
m, the energy department said in a statement.
The country'sdaily consumption stands at some
22millioncu mof gas and the remaining 9.0
million cu m are being stored.
"There is no reason to worry, we must start
getting used to such situations generated by
[Russia's]Gazprom. The volumes we import are
very small and Romania is ready to face this
winter without the population being affected,"
energy minister Razvan Nicolescu was quoted as

The Russia-Ukraine conflict has led to
disruptions in Russian gas deliveries to Europe
in the last few weeks and has underscoredthe
European countries' need to diversify energy
