The Nordex Group received an order for a 166.4-megawatt pooled wind farm project in southern Argentina, the German manufacturer announced Monday.

According to Nordex' statement, the order for the Chubut Norte II, III and IV project, which will be located in the southern province of Chubut near Puerto Madryn, has been awarded by the leading renewable energy Independent Power Producer company in Argentina, Genneia, for which the Nordex Group is currently installing the Argentinean Pomona I and II projects with a combined capacity of 113.1 MW.

The Chubut Norte II, III and IV wind farm will be composed of 38 N149/4.0-4.5 turbines with an installed capacity of 4.38 MW each. Installation of the turbines is scheduled for the third quarter of 2019. According to the press release, this is the first time the group is supplying turbines from its Delta4000 series to an overseas destination. Nordex will also provide multi-year service for the wind farm.

The Nordex Group has installed more than 25 gigawatts of wind energy capacity in over 40 markets so far, and in 2018 generated revenues of €2.5 billion.
