The operator of Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant in Kozloduy said it shut down one of the plant's two 1,000-megawatt (MW) units for planned annual repairs.

The plant's unit six was switched off at 0033 CET on September 21, the company said in a statement.
The planned maintenance works, during which the reactor will be recharged with fresh fuel, are scheduled to be completed by end-October.
