Household Electricity Prices in EU Lowest in Bulgaria – Eurostat

Electricity in the European Union in the second half of last year was cheapest in Bulgaria and Romania where households paid an average of 8.8 euro ($12) and 12.8 euro per 100 kilowatt hours (kWh), respectively, the bloc’s statistics office said.

The average electricity price for households in the EU was 20.1 euro per 100 kWh in the July-December period, Eurostat said in a report.

In Bulgaria average household prices in the second half of 2013 were 7.7% lower than in the like period a year earlier, it added.
