Honeywell said it has agreed to upgrade controls
at two refineries run by Turkish oil refiner
Tupras [BIST:TUPRS] as part of a five-year
service, maintenance and support contract for the
two faicilities.
The upgrade will improve the performance of the
two refineries and reduce maintenance costs for
the Honeywell control systems at the refineries by
15 to 20%, Honeywell said in a statement on
Tuesday.
Under the agreement, Honeywell will upgrade
existing systems at the Aliaga refinery in the
western Turkish province of Izmir and provide
maintenance, support and parts management for the
Honeywell equipment at that facility and at the
company's refinery in the southeastern Turkish
city of Batman. Honeywell will provide
round-the-clock support and a resident engineer to
provide quicker response times, adding to overall
savings on maintenance, it said in the statement.
The agreement runs through 2018.
In 2013, Honeywell updated one of the largest
control systems at the Aliaga refinery.
