The 140 MW Karavasta Solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant which French renewables company Voltalia operates in southwestern Albania generated 132 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity in the first half of 2026, unchanged from the same period of last year, Voltalia said in a half-year report on Thursday.
Karavasta Solar delivered its first electricity in December 2023.
Half of Karavasta’s yearly output is contracted to Albania's electricity distribution system operator, OSHEE, under a 15-year power purchase agreement, while the remainder is allocated to private operators through long-term contracts.
In 2025, the Karavasta PV plant delivered 260 GWh of electricity, a 0.7% increase compared to the previous year.
