Fuel retailer OMV Bulgaria, part of Austrian energy group OMV, said on Tuesday that it has launched its own network of fast electric vehicle charging stations under the brand eMotion.
A total of 21 sites in the company’s fuel network across the country now feature electric vehicle charging infrastructure, with fast?charging at up to 300 kW available at five newly built fast?charging stations, OMV Bulgaria said in a press release.
This year, OMV Bulgaria will start a phased replacement of the existing equipment at its charging sites, focusing initially on transit and highway locations, where the company plans to install up to two charging stations with a capacity of up to 300 kW and at least four connectors each.
OMV plans to install a total of 2,000 charging points in Austria, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Bulgaria by 2030, most of them fast?charging stations with a power output between 150 kW and 300 kW.
OMV, which entered the Bulgarian market in 1998, operates nearly 90 filling stations in the country, according to its website.
