Bulgaria's electricity production added 7.01% to 30,806 GWh between January 1 and October 5, the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday. Domestic power consumption grew 5.62% on the year to 28,645 GWh, ESO said in a data release.
The country's power trade surplus went up to 2,161 GWh from 1,668 GWh a year earlier.
In annual terms, the volume of renewable energy in the transmission network jumped by 20.18% to 3,230 GWh, whereas the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system soared by 23.83% to 3,269 GWh.
Meanwhile, the output of hydropower plants dropped by 18.95% on the year to 2,112 GWh in the period under review.
