Bulgarian public gas supplier Bulgargaz said on Wednesday that it has chosen German energy trading company RWE Supply and Trading as the winner in a tender to deliver liquefied natural gas (LNG) in June.
RWE Supply and Trading was one of four companies that submitted offers in the tender to supply LNG to Bulgaria this month, Bulgargaz said in a statement. The remaining bidders were not disclosed.
Last month, Bulgargaz launched a pre-selection procedure to identify potential suppliers for LNG deliveries between June 2025 and June 2026. Based on that process and including companies that participated in earlier tenders, the company compiled a list of 34 eligible suppliers.
Earlier this month, Bulgargaz invited those suppliers to submit offers for the June 2025 LNG delivery.
RWE Supply and Trading is the trading arm of Germany’s RWE, operating across global energy markets and dealing in electricity, gas, commodities and carbon emissions allowances, according to RWE's website.
