Azerbaijan’s SOCAR, Hungary’s MVM ONEnergy Sign Natural Gas Supply Deal

Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) President Rovshan Najaf and Hungaria's MVM Group CEO Karoly Matrai signed a new natural gas supply agreement on December 10 that will come into effect on January 1, 2026.

The new deal builds on the companies’ previous contract. The agreement aims to ensure continued natural gas supply to Hungary, Caliber.Az reports, citing SOCAR. 

"In recent years, both companies have maintained a successful, reliable, and mutually beneficial relationship. Extending the partnership reflects the commitment of both sides to long-term energy cooperation and regional energy security," SOCAR said in a statement. 

Duruing the meeting, the sides also explored opportunities for expanding cooperation across other energy sectors, in gas supply, infrastructure projects, sustainable energy solutions, and regional partnership initiatives.

The sides also discussed ongoing projects and future partnership opportunities.
