Croatia's HEP Seeks to Acquire Renewable Energy Projects Under Development

Monday, 02 February 2015

Croatian state-owned power utility HEP said on Friday it is exploring possibilities for the acquisition of domestic renewable energy projects currently under preliminary development.

The energy utility said in a public notice it has invited interested project holders to file expressions of interest. No submission deadline has been set.

HEP is seeking to take over solar power projects with capacity of over 300 kW and small hydro power plants of up to 10 MW as well as wind parks, biomass- and biogas-fired plants.

The company said that it will consider for takeover exclusively projects that are still at the development stage and not plants that are already under construction or that have been brought online.

HEP group owns and operates over 4,000 MW of installed generation capacity and 974 MW of heat production capacity, including 26 hydroelectric plants and eight thermal power plants fired by oil, natural gas or coal.
