Bulgarian gas supplier Overgas said on Wednesday it has signed an agreement to build gas supply infrastructure in the eastern Serbian town of Pirot.
Under the signed agreement, Overgas will design, build and finance the infrastructure while the municipality of Pirot will fund the installations of the end users, Overgas said in a statement.
In the absence of a gas pipeline to the town, Pirot will receive compressed natural gas. The first municipal buildings are expected to be equipped with gas installations this winter.
Pirot is the second Serbian town that will be equipped with gas supply infrastructure by Overgas after the Bulgarian company signed a similar deal with the town of Dimitrovgrad in May.
Overgas is 50%-owned by Russian gas giant Gazprom.
