State-owned Bulgarian
Energy Holding (BEH) has registered an energy
exchange operator named Independent Bulgarian
Energy Exchange, data entered in the country's
Trade Register showed.
The company, which is fully owned by BEH, will
organise trading in power products such as
electricity, natural gas, coal, emissions and
green certificates, a filing to the Trade
Register showed on Friday.
The startup has registered capital of 50,000
levs ($35,000/26,000 euro), the company data
show. Konstantin Konstantinov will be at the
head of the newly-created company.
Earlier this month, energy minister Dragomir
Stoynev said that the energy exchange in
Bulgaria is going to start operation within
months.
Another startup, the Bulgarian Energy Exchange
AD (BEE), applied in November for a permit to
operate a power exchange after state-owned grid
operator ESO withdrew its application in October
2013 without any explanation.
