The energy ministers of Bulgaria and
Turkey have signed a memorandum of understanding
(MoU) for the construction of a gas interconnector
between the two countries, Bulgarian media
reported, quoting the country’s energy minister.
Working groups of Bulgaria and Turkey will soon
start discussing the technical parameters of the
gas link, public TV broadcaster BNT reported on
Monday, quoting energy minister Dragomir Stoynev.
In January, Stoynev said the construction of the
gas interconnector on Bulgarian territory has been
awarded to Bulgarian gas transmission system
operator Bulgartransgaz. The contractor for the
Turkish part of the pipeline is yet to be chosen,
he added then.
