Bulgaria
may lower natural gas prices as of April 1, local
media reported on Friday quoting the new chairman
of the country’s energy regulator.
The authorities will weigh all options for natural
gas price cuts in the first quarter, Boyan Boev,
the chairman of the State Energy and Water
Regulatory Commission, was quoted as saying at a
press conference by the national news agency BTA.
Likewise, the energy regulator may consider
options for cuts in the central heating and
electricity bills, Boev added.
Meanwhile, power distributors CEZ Bulgaria and EVN
Bulgaria, Energo-Pro and heating utility
Toplofikatsia Sofia will all undergo audits in the
first quarter of 2014.
