Russia Intends to Defend Interests of Its Companies at Global Stage

Russia is going to protect interests of its companies at the global stage and work for support of cooperation with producers of energy resources, the new Russian Foreign Policy Concept inked by President Vladimir Putin today says.

Russia "provides government support to Russian entities in entering new and developing traditional markets and opposes discrimination of domestic investors and exporters," the document says. Moscow "undertakes in accordance with international norms and principles required measures in the trade policy sphere for purposes of protecting national interests and efficient response to adverse economic actions of foreign states, infringing on rights of Russia and Russian business companies," the Concept says.

Russia is "strengthening cooperation with leading producers of energy resources and seeks to develop equal dialog with consumer nations and transit nations of such resources, assuming that guaranteed supplies of energy resources require stable demand for them and reliability of their transit," the document says.
