New Corporate Members Join IENEIENE is happy to welcome four new corporate members which over the last few months have joined the Institute. These four companies include, both national and international established energy groups, major consulting and technical companies with presence in Greece and abroad as well as active players of the local energy sector

IENE is happy to welcome four new corporate members which over the last few months have joined the Institute. These four companies include, both national and internationalestablished energy groups, major consulting and technical companies with presence in Greece and abroad as well as active players of the local energy sector.

More specifically, the four new members of IENE include:

-HEDNO S.A. (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator S.A.) which was formed by the separation of the Distribution Department from PPC S.A., with the goal to undertake the tasks of the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator. It is a 100% subsidiary of PPC S.A., however, it is independent in operation and management retaining all the independence requirements that are incorporated within the above mentioned legislative framework.

-LDK Consultants whichis a multi disciplinary developmental consultancy group comprising 7 companies. Established in 1968 as an engineering firm providing services to the buildings sector, it has since expanded in the energy, environmental and water and transportation engineering and consulting, as well socioeconomic development consulting. It operates through its headquarters in Greece and its regional subsidiaries in Romania and Serbia for Southeastern Europe, Brussels for Central Europe and Kenya for Southeastern Africa. LDK has implemented assignments in more than 100 countries and 90% of its revenues are sourced from the foreign markets.

-Enel Romania is part of the multinational company ENEL based in Italy, a major group active in the electricity and gas markets of Europe and Latin America. In Romania, since 2005, it has been the largest private investor in the energy sector, with activities in the field of electricity distribution and supply as well as in the production of electricity from renewable sources. The company offers services to 2.8 million customers in three major regions of the country: Muntenia Sud (including Bucharest), Banat and Dobrogea, accounting for almost one third of the local distribution market.

The entry of the above companies into IENE members' classes is aimed at strengthening the Institute's work, creating prospects for further development and confirming its special role in Greece and SE Europe as well as the high level of services offered to its members and society.
