IENE Held its AGM and Celebrated the New YearThe 27th Annual General Assembly of the Partners of the Institute took place on Tuesday evening, February 6, 2018, at the Electra Palace Hotel, in Athens.

Having ascertained that the AGM was in quorum, the Chairman of the Institute, Mr. John Chatzivassiliadis, welcomed all Partners present at this first General Assembly for 2018, wishing them a happy and fruitful New Year

The 27th Annual General Assembly of the Partners of the Institute took place on Tuesday evening, February 6, 2018, at the Electra Palace Hotel, in Athens.

Having ascertained that the AGM was in quorum, the Chairman of the Institute, Mr. John Chatzivassiliadis, welcomed all Partners present at this first General Assembly for 2018, wishing them a happy and fruitful New Year. The Deputy Chairman and Executive Director of the Institute, Mr. Costis Stambolis, presented the annual report for 2017 covering the Institute’s main activities for the previous year with the full document to be soon available through the Institute’s website.

These activities included publications, research, studies, and the provision of regular information to its members as well as the events organized by IENE in Greece and abroad, 14 in total. The Executive Director also reported on the Institute’s finances for the past year while the official financial report and balance sheet will be presented and approved in the summer AGM.

Following that, a proposal by IENE’s Executive Committee for a new strategy for the Institute, in order to meet mounting economic and social challenges, was presented. The partners present at the AGM contributed remarks and comments on the proposed new strategy, which was agreed to be discussed further and approved in a final form in a month’s time. Finally, the partners of the Institute were briefed on the activities planned for 2018.

The evening concluded with the cutting of IENE’s New Year traditional pie (vassilopita) and a small reception with the participation of the Institute’s Partners and many of its members, associates and friends.
